PAG LIN 1 1 Amend the amendment, S-5622, to House File 2549, as 1 2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the House, as 1 3 follows: 1 4 #1. By striking page 10, line 31, through page 11, 1 5 line 23, and inserting the following: "assessment 1 6 tools as provided in section 256.39A: 1 7 .................................................. $ 800,000" 1 8 #2. Page 26, by inserting after line 40 the 1 9 following: 1 10 "Sec. . NEW SECTION. 256.39A EMPLOYABILITY 1 11 SKILLS ASSESSMENT REIMBURSEMENTS. 1 12 1. If the general assembly appropriates moneys to 1 13 pay school district claims for the costs of 1 14 employability skills assessment tools, the department 1 15 of education shall reimburse school district claims 1 16 for the costs of acquiring, administering, and scoring 1 17 assessment tools to assess the employability skills of 1 18 students. The director of education shall identify 1 19 available employability skills assessment tools that 1 20 school districts may use to meet the claim 1 21 reimbursement requirements of this section. 1 22 2. In order to be eligible for reimbursement under 1 23 this section, a school district shall submit a claim 1 24 on forms provided by the department by July 15, and 1 25 the claim shall state the actual costs incurred and 1 26 shall be accompanied by an affidavit of an officer of 1 27 the school district affirming the accuracy of the 1 28 claim. 1 29 3. A school district that submits to the 1 30 department a claim for reimbursement in accordance 1 31 with this section shall develop and integrate specific 1 32 employability skills, goals, and activities into the 1 33 comprehensive school improvement plan required under 1 34 section 256.7, subsection 21, paragraph "a". 1 35 4. The department of education shall certify to 1 36 the department of revenue and finance the total 1 37 amounts of approved claims to be paid and, to the 1 38 extent moneys are appropriated, the department of 1 39 revenue and finance shall draw warrants payable to 1 40 school districts with approved claims, taking into 1 41 consideration the relative budget and cash position of 1 42 the state resources. If the funds appropriated for 1 43 purposes of this section are insufficient to pay in 1 44 full the claims submitted by school districts and 1 45 approved by the department, the amounts of approved 1 46 claims shall be prorated among all school districts 1 47 with approved claims. 1 48 5. Moneys received under this section shall not be 1 49 commingled with state aid payments made under section 1 50 257.16 to a school district and shall be accounted for 2 1 by the school district separately from state aid 2 2 payments. Payments made to a school district under 2 3 this section are miscellaneous income for purposes of 2 4 chapter 257." 2 5 #3.
