  1  1    Amend the amendment, S-5417, to House File 2496, as
  1  2 passed by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 2, by striking lines 15 through 43.
  1  4    #2.  Page 3, by striking lines 18 through 33 and
  1  5 inserting the following:
  1  6    "Sec.    .  Section 279.51, subsection 1,
  1  7 paragraphs c and e, Code Supplement 1999, are amended
  1  8 to read as follows:
  1  9    c.  For each of the fiscal years during the fiscal
  1 10 period beginning July 1, 1996, and ending June 30,
  1 11 2000 2002, two million eight hundred thousand dollars
  1 12 of the funds appropriated shall be allocated for the
  1 13 school-based youth services education program
  1 14 established in subsection 3.  For each of the fiscal
  1 15 years during the fiscal period beginning July 1, 1994,
  1 16 and ending June 30, 2000 2002, twenty thousand dollars
  1 17 of the funds allocated in this paragraph shall be
  1 18 expended for staff development, research, and the
  1 19 development of strategies for coordination with
  1 20 community-based youth organizations and agencies.  A
  1 21 school that received a grant during the fiscal year
  1 22 beginning July 1, 1993, or July 1, 1997, is ineligible
  1 23 to receive a grant under this paragraph.  Subject to
  1 24 the approval of the state board of education, the
  1 25 allocation made in this paragraph may be renewed for
  1 26 additional four-year periods of time.
  1 27    e.  Notwithstanding paragraph "c", for each of the
  1 28 fiscal years during the fiscal period beginning July
  1 29 1, 1998, and ending June 30, 2000 2002, fifty thousand
  1 30 dollars of the funds allocated in paragraph "c" shall
  1 31 be granted to each of the schools that received grants
  1 32 under subsection 3 during the fiscal year beginning
  1 33 July 1, 1993, or July 1, 1997, to allow for expansion
  1 34 and to include identified minimum services if the
  1 35 school submits a program plan pursuant to subsection
  1 36 3."
