1 4 "6. IMMIGRATION SERVICE CENTERS
1 5 For salaries, support, maintenance, and
1 6 miscellaneous purposes for the establishment of pilot
1 7 immigration service centers:
1 8 .................................................. $ 200,000
1 9 The department of workforce development shall
1 10 establish pilot immigration service centers that shall
1 11 offer one-step services to deal with the multiple
1 12 issues related to immigration and employment. Centers
1 13 shall be designed to support workers, businesses, and
1 14 communities with information and technical assistance
1 15 on such issues as forms and documentation,
1 16 translation, language training, job placement
1 17 assistance, and resettlement. Through coordination of
1 18 local, state, and federal service providers, these
1 19 centers shall seek to provide a seamless service
1 20 delivery system for new Iowans."
