PAG LIN 1 1 Amend Senate File 2411, as follows: 1 2 #1. Page 69, by inserting after line 30 the 1 3 following: 1 4 "Sec. 101. Section 411.15, Code 1999, is amended 1 5 to read as follows: 1 6 411.15 HOSPITALIZATION AND MEDICAL ATTENTION. 1 7 Cities shall provide hospital, nursing, and medical 1 8 attention for the members of the police and fire 1 9 departments of the cities, when injured while in the 1 10 performance of their duties as members of such 1 11 department, and shallcontinue toalso provide 1 12 hospital, nursing, and medical attentionfor injuries1 13or diseases incurred while in the performance of their1 14dutiesfor members receiving a retirement allowance 1 15 under section 411.6, subsection 6. Cities may provide 1 16 the hospital, nursing, and medical attention required 1 17 by this section through the purchase of insurance, by 1 18 self-insuring the obligation, or through payment of 1 19 moneys into a local government risk pool established 1 20 for the purpose of covering the costs associated with 1 21 the requirements of this section. The cost of 1 22 providing the hospital, nursing, and medical attention 1 23 required by this section shall be paid from moneys 1 24 held in a trust and agency fund established pursuant 1 25 to section 384.6, or out of the appropriation for the 1 26 department to which the injured person belongs or 1 27 belonged; provided that any amounts received by the 1 28 injured person under the workers' compensation law of 1 29 the state, or from any other source for such specific 1 30 purposes, shall be deducted from the amount paid by 1 31 the city under the provisions of this section." 1 32 #2. Page 73, by inserting after line 1 the 1 33 following: 1 34 "Sec. . APPLICABILITY. Section 101 of this Act 1 35 is applicable to members who were retired for 1 36 accidental disability on or after July 1, 1980. 1 37 However, the requirement of section 101 of this Act 1 38 that cities provide hospital, nursing, and medical 1 39 attention for members receiving a retirement allowance 1 40 under section 411.6, subsection 6, only applies on or 1 41 after the effective date of this Act." 1 42 #3.
