  1  1    Amend House File 2315, as passed by the House, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 11 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec. 101.  Section 411.15, Code 1999, is amended
  1  6 to read as follows:
  1  7    411.15  HOSPITALIZATION AND MEDICAL ATTENTION.
  1  8    Cities shall provide hospital, nursing, and medical
  1  9 attention for the members of the police and fire
  1 10 departments of the cities, when injured while in the
  1 11 performance of their duties as members of such
  1 12 department, and shall continue to also provide
  1 13 hospital, nursing, and medical attention for injuries
  1 14 or diseases incurred while in the performance of their
  1 15 duties for members receiving a retirement allowance
  1 16 under section 411.6, subsection 6.  Cities may provide
  1 17 the hospital, nursing, and medical attention required
  1 18 by this section through the purchase of insurance, by
  1 19 self-insuring the obligation, or through payment of
  1 20 moneys into a local government risk pool established
  1 21 for the purpose of covering the costs associated with
  1 22 the requirements of this section.  The cost of
  1 23 providing the hospital, nursing, and medical attention
  1 24 required by this section shall be paid from moneys
  1 25 held in a trust and agency fund established pursuant
  1 26 to section 384.6, or out of the appropriation for the
  1 27 department to which the injured person belongs or
  1 28 belonged; provided that any amounts received by the
  1 29 injured person under the workers' compensation law of
  1 30 the state, or from any other source for such specific
  1 31 purposes, shall be deducted from the amount paid by
  1 32 the city under the provisions of this section.
  1 33    Sec.    .  APPLICABILITY.  Section 101 of this Act
  1 34 is applicable to members who were retired for
  1 35 accidental disability on or after July 1, 1980.
  1 36 However, the requirement of section 101 of this Act
  1 37 that cities provide hospital, nursing, and medical
  1 38 attention for members receiving a retirement allowance
  1 39 under section 411.6, subsection 6, only applies on or
  1 40 after the effective date of this Act."
  1 41    #2.  Title page, line 2, by inserting after the
  1 42 word "employees" the following:  "and including an
  1 43 applicability provision".
  1 44    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
