1 2 #1. Page 19, by inserting after line 6 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . Section 97B.45, subsection 4, Code
1 5 1999, is amended to read as follows:
1 6 4. The first of any month in which the member is
1 7 at least fifty-five years of age and for which the sum
1 8 of the number of years of membership service and prior
1 9 service and the member's age in years as of the
1 10 member's last birthday equals or exceeds eighty-eight.
1 11 Commencing July 1, 2000, the department shall reduce
1 12 from eighty-eight by one each July 1 until reaching
1 13 eighty-five, if the annual actuarial valuation of the
1 14 retirement system indicates that the cost of the
1 15 reduction can be absorbed within the employer and
1 16 employee contribution rates in effect under section
1 17 97B.11."
