  1  1    Amend Senate File 2007 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by striking lines 7 and 8, and
  1  3 inserting the following:  "services limited to the
  1  4 provision of routine physical and dental examinations
  1  5 and procedures under anesthesia is included, if the
  1  6 anesthesia is provided within the scope of the health
  1  7 care practitioner's scope of practice."
  1  8    #2.  Page 1, by striking lines 16 through 18, and
  1  9 inserting the following:  "treatment, or services
  1 10 limited to the provision of routine physical and
  1 11 dental examinations and procedures under anesthesia,
  1 12 if the use of anesthesia is necessitated by the
  1 13 physical or mental disability of the ward, and if the
  1 14 anesthesia is provided within the scope of the health
  1 15 care practitioner's scope of practice.
  1 16    Sec.    .  Section 633.635, Code 1999, is amended
  1 17 by adding the following new subsection:
  1 18    NEW SUBSECTION.  2A.  For the purposes of this
  1 19 section:
  1 20    a.  "Routine dental examinations and procedures"
  1 21 includes preventive services, diagnostic services,
  1 22 restorative services, periodontal services, endodontic
  1 23 services, oral surgery, prosthetic services, and
  1 24 orthodontic procedures.
  1 25    b.  "Routine physical examinations and procedures"
  1 26 includes examinations and procedures performed for the
  1 27 purpose of general treatment or diagnosis or for the
  1 28 purpose of treatment or diagnosis related to a
  1 29 specific illness, symptom, complaint, or injury."
  1 30    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
