  1  1    Amend House File 656, as passed by the House, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by striking lines 23 through 27 and
  1  4 inserting the following:  "state shall be an eligible
  1  5 elector.  An elected official shall be a resident of
  1  6 the state, district, county, township, city, or ward
  1  7 by or for which the person was elected, or in which
  1  8 the duties of the office are to be exercised, for
  1  9 sixty days before the date of the election at which
  1 10 the office is to be filled.  An elected official
  1 11 shall".
