1 1 Section 1. Section 422.45, Code Supplement 1999, is
1 2 amended by adding the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 57. The gross receipts from the sales of
1 4 livestock ear tags by a nonprofit organization whose income is
1 5 exempt from federal taxation under section 501(c)(3) of the
1 6 Internal Revenue Code where the proceeds are used in bovine
1 7 research programs selected or approved by such organization.
1 8 EXPLANATION
1 9 The bill exempts from the sales and use taxes the sales of
1 10 livestock ear tags by a nonprofit organization whose income is
1 11 exempt from federal taxation where the proceeds are used in
1 12 bovine research programs approved by that organization.
