1 1 Section 1. Section 422.45, subsection 27, paragraph a,
1 2 unnumbered paragraph 1, Code Supplement 1999, is amended to
1 3 read as follows:
1 4 The gross receipts from the sale or rental of computers,
1 5 machinery, and equipment, including replacement parts and
1 6 supplies necessary for the computer, machinery, or equipment,
1 7 to accomplish its intended function, notwithstanding the
1 8 supply's expected useful life, and materials used to construct
1 9 or self-construct computers, machinery, and equipment if such
1 10 items are any of the following:
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill allows a sales tax exemption for supplies for
1 13 computers, machinery, and equipment used in processing by a
1 14 manufacturer or to store information by certain commercial
1 15 enterprises if the supply is necessary for the computer,
1 16 machinery, or equipment to accomplish its intended function.
