  1  1    Section 1.  Section 29A.27, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code
  1  2 1999, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    Officers and enlisted persons while in active state service
  1  4 shall receive the same pay, per diem, and allowances as are
  1  5 paid for the same rank or grade for service in the armed
  1  6 forces of the United States.  However, a person shall not be
  1  7 paid at a base rate of pay of less than seventy-five one
  1  8 hundred dollars per calendar day of active state service.  
  1  9                           EXPLANATION 
  1 10    This bill increases from $75 to $100 per day the minimum
  1 11 pay for a member of the Iowa national guard who has been
  1 12 called to active state service.
