PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 455E.11, subsection 2, paragraph a, 1 2 subparagraph (2), subparagraph subdivision (f), Code 1999, is 1 3 amended to read as follows: 1 4 (f) Eight and one-half percent to the department to 1 5 provide additional toxic cleanup days or other efforts of the 1 6 department to support permanent household hazardous material 1 7 collection systems and special events for household hazardous 1 8 material collection, and for the natural resource geographic 1 9 information system required under section 455E.8, subsection 1 10 6. Departmental rules adopted for implementation of toxic 1 11 cleanup days shall provide sufficient flexibility to respond 1 12 to the household hazardous material collection needs of both 1 13 small and large communities. Repayments of moneys from the 1 14 Iowa business loan program for waste reduction and recycling 1 15 pursuant to section 455B.310, subsection 2, paragraph "b", 1 16 Code 1993, and discontinued pursuant to 1993 Iowa Acts, 1 17 chapter 176, section 45, shall be placed into this account to 1 18 support household hazardous materials programs of the 1 19 department. 1 20 EXPLANATION 1 21 This bill amends Code section 455E.11 to allow for funding 1 22 of efforts to support permanent household hazardous material 1 23 collection systems and special events for household hazardous 1 24 material collection. 1 25 The bill provides that repayments of moneys from the Iowa 1 26 business loan program for waste reduction and recycling shall 1 27 be placed into the solid waste account of the groundwater 1 28 protection fund to support household hazardous materials 1 29 programs of the department. 1 30 LSB 5959HV 78 1 31 tm/as/5
