  1  1    Section 1.  Section 321.37, unnumbered paragraph 2, Code
  1  2 1999, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    Registration A person issued registration plates issued for
  1  4 a motor vehicle which is of a model year 1948 twenty-five
  1  5 years old or older, and or a reconstructed or specially
  1  6 constructed vehicles vehicle built to resemble a model year
  1  7 1948 vehicle which is of a model year twenty-five years old or
  1  8 older, other than a truck registered for more than five tons,
  1  9 motorcycle, or truck tractor, may display one registration
  1 10 plate on the rear of the vehicle if the other registration
  1 11 plate issued to the vehicle is carried in the vehicle at all
  1 12 times when the vehicle is operated on a public highway.  
  1 13                           EXPLANATION
  1 14    This bill allows persons issued registration plates for
  1 15 certain vehicles which are 25 years old or older, or vehicles
  1 16 which are reconstructed or specially constructed to resemble a
  1 17 vehicle 25 years old or older, to display only one
  1 18 registration plate on the rear of the vehicle if the other
  1 19 registration plate is carried in the vehicle.  Currently, such
  1 20 allowance is made only for vehicles model year 1948 or older.
