  1  4 RELATING TO POLYGRAPH EXAMINATIONS OF APPLICANTS FOR
  1  5    CERTAIN LAW ENFORCEMENT POSITIONS.  
  1  6 
  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1  8 
  1  9    Section 1.  Section 730.4, subsection 3, Code Supplement
  1 10 1999, is amended to read as follows:
  1 11    3.  a.  Subsection 2 does not apply to the state or a
  1 12 political subdivision of the state when in the process of
  1 13 selecting a any of the following:
  1 14    (1)  A candidate for employment as a peace officer or.
  1 15    (2)  A candidate for employment as a corrections officer.
  1 16    (3)  An applicant for a position with a law enforcement
  1 17 agency of a political subdivision of the state when the
  1 18 applicant is being considered for a position in which the
  1 19 employee filling the position has direct access to prisoner
  1 20 funds, any other cash assets, and confidential information.
  1 21    b.  Polygraph examinations under this subsection shall
  1 22 adhere to the published antidiscrimination policy of the state
  1 23 or political subdivision conducting the examination.
