  1  5 EXEMPTING INTERNET FROM THE STATE SALES, SERVICES, AND USE
  1  6    TAXES.

  1  8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1 10    Section 1.  Section 422.45, Code 1999, is amended by adding
  1 11 the following new subsection:
  1 12    NEW SUBSECTION.  55.  The gross receipts from charges paid
  1 13 to a provider for access to on-line computer services.  For
  1 14 purposes of this subsection, "on-line computer service" means
  1 15 a service that provides or enables computer access by multiple
  1 16 users to the internet.
