  1  1    Section 1.  Section 350.6, Code 1999, is amended by adding
  1  2 the following new unnumbered paragraph:
  1  3    NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH.  If the estimated quantity of
  1  4 timber to be sold by the board in a sixty-day period is ten
  1  5 thousand board feet or more or if the estimated value of
  1  6 timber to be sold by the board during the same period of time
  1  7 is five thousand dollars or more, the board shall conduct a
  1  8 public hearing on the proposed sale.  Notice of the hearing
  1  9 shall be published as provided in section 331.305.  After the
  1 10 public hearing, the board may proceed with the sale of the
  1 11 timber.
