1 1 Section 1. Section 481A.123, subsection 1, Code 1999, is
1 2 amended to read as follows:
1 3 1. a. A person shall not discharge a firearm or shoot or
1 4 attempt to shoot a game or fur-bearing animal within two
1 5 hundred yards of a building inhabited by people or domestic
1 6 livestock or within two hundred yards of a feedlot unless the
1 7 owner or tenant has given consent.
1 8 b. A person shall not discharge a firearm or shoot or
1 9 attempt to shoot a game or fur-bearing animal within two
1 10 hundred yards of an entrance to a driveway to an inhabited
1 11 building or an official school bus stop sign.
1 12 EXPLANATION
1 13 This bill prohibits the discharge of firearms within 200
1 14 yards of the entrance to a driveway to an inhabited building
1 15 or an official school bus stop. Current law prohibits the
1 16 discharge of firearms within 200 yards of inhabited buildings
1 17 or feedlots without consent of the owner.
