1 1 Section 1. Section 359.46, subsection 1, unnumbered
1 2 paragraph 1, Code 1999, is amended to read as follows:
1 3 A township trustee while engaged in official business shall
1 4 be compensated at an hourly rate established by the county
1 5 board of supervisors. However, the county board of
1 6 supervisors may establish a minimum daily pay rate of not less
1 7 than twelve dollars for the time spent by a township trustee
1 8 attending a scheduled meeting of township trustees. The
1 9 compensation shall be paid by the county except:
1 10 EXPLANATION
1 11 This bill provides a minimum daily compensation of $12 for
1 12 township trustees for attending regular scheduled meetings of
1 13 the township trustees. Current law provides that the board of
1 14 supervisors is responsible for establishing an hourly rate for
1 15 the township trustees and clerk for official duties.
