1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 321.334A PEDESTRIANS – PHYSICAL
1 2 TRAINING ACTIVITY – REFLECTIVE CLOTHING OR ARTICLES.
1 3 1. A pedestrian who is participating in a physical
1 4 training activity between sunset and sunrise during which the
1 5 pedestrian at any time uses a roadway, highway, street, or
1 6 bridge shall wear reflective clothing or reflective articles.
1 7 2. For the purposes of this section, "physical training
1 8 activity" includes but is not limited to walking, jogging, or
1 9 running performed by a pedestrian for the purposes of physical
1 10 exercise.
1 11 3. A pedestrian who violates this section is subject to a
1 12 scheduled fine as provided in section 805.8, subsection 2,
1 13 paragraph "j".
1 14 Sec. 2. Section 805.8, subsection 2, paragraph j, Code
1 15 1999, is amended to read as follows:
1 16 j. For violations by pedestrians and bicyclists under
1 17 section 321.234, subsections 3 and 4, section 321.236,
1 18 subsection 10, section 321.257, subsection 2, sections
1 19 321.325, 321.326, 321.328, 321.331, 321.332, 321.334A,
1 20 321.397, and 321.434, the scheduled fine is ten dollars.
1 21 EXPLANATION
1 22 The bill requires pedestrians who are participating in a
1 23 physical training activity between sunset and sunrise to wear
1 24 reflective clothing or articles if the pedestrian uses a
1 25 roadway, highway, street, or bridge. The bill defines
1 26 physical training activity and provides that a pedestrian who
1 27 violates the bill is subject to a scheduled fine of $10.
