1 1 Section 1. Section 350.6, Code 1999, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new unnumbered paragraph:
1 3 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. If the estimated value of timber
1 4 to be sold by the board in a two-week period is two thousand
1 5 five hundred dollars or more, the board shall conduct a public
1 6 hearing on the proposed sale. Notice of the hearing shall be
1 7 published as provided in section 331.305. After the public
1 8 hearing, the board may proceed with the sale of the timber.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill provides that when the estimated value of timber
1 11 to be sold by a county conservation board in a two-week period
1 12 is $2,500 or more, the board shall hold a public hearing on
1 13 the proposed sale. The board shall publish notice of the
1 14 hearing as provided in Code section 331.305. After the
1 15 hearing, the board may proceed with the proposed sale.
