1 1 Section 1. Section 598.41, Code 1999, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 5A. Unless otherwise ordered by the
1 4 court, and if it is reasonable and in the best interest of the
1 5 child, the court shall include a provision in the custody
1 6 order which requires the custodial parent of the child to
1 7 allow visitation between the child and other biological
1 8 children of the child's parents who do not reside with the
1 9 custodial parent.
1 10 EXPLANATION
1 11 This bill provides that a custody order include a provision
1 12 which requires a custodial parent of a child to allow
1 13 visitation between the child and other biological children of
1 14 the child's parents who do not reside with the custodial
1 15 parent. The provision is to be included unless the court
1 16 otherwise orders and if it is reasonable and in the best
1 17 interest of the child.
