1 3 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 26 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Sec. . APPLICABILITY.
1 6 1. This Act shall apply to all counties except
1 7 those counties described in subsection 2.
1 8 2. This Act shall not apply to counties which
1 9 budgeted or funded, for the fiscal year beginning July
1 10 1, 1999, expenditures identified in section 3 of this
1 11 Act from the rural services fund, unless the counties
1 12 increase the funding from the rural services fund
1 13 above the amount in the budget certified on or before
1 14 March 15, 2000.
1 15 3. However, this Act shall also apply to counties
1 16 described in subsection 2, after the last day of the
1 17 regular session of the general assembly which convenes
1 18 following the final disposition of litigation pending
1 19 before the district court of Lyon or Story county
1 20 addressing the issue of funding of uniform law
1 21 enforcement patrol services provided by the county
1 22 sheriff, whichever decision is issued last.
1 23 4. However, this Act shall also apply to Lyon
1 24 county and Story county upon disposition of their
1 25 respective litigation pending before the district
1 26 courts of Lyon or Story county addressing the funding
1 27 of expenditures specified in section 3 of this Act,
1 28 respectively. However, subsection 3 shall apply to
1 29 Lyon or Story county if this Act is inconsistent with
1 30 the applicable final order or ruling in each case."
1 31 #2. Title page, line 3, by inserting after the
1 32 word "expenses" the following: "and providing
1 33 applicability dates."
