1 3 #1. Page 1, line 4, by inserting after the word
1 4 "incentives." the following: "As a component of the
1 5 study, the department shall invite the Iowa high
1 6 school athletic association and the Iowa girls high
1 7 school athletic union to submit for consideration any
1 8 information or advice for the elimination of sports-
1 9 related barriers to reorganization."
1 10 #2. Page 1, line 5, by inserting after the word
1 11 "include" the following: ", but shall not be limited
1 12 to,".
1 13 #3. Page 1, line 7, by striking the words "shall
1 14 include".
1 15 #4. Page 1, line 8, by inserting after the word
1 16 "identified" the following: "; shall gather and
1 17 report data relating to reorganization efforts since
1 18 1979, listing the school districts that utilized
1 19 reorganization or sharing incentives such as whole
1 20 grade sharing, shared classes or teachers, shared
1 21 superintendents, and shared mathematics, science, and
1 22 language courses, the current status of school
1 23 districts that received reorganization or sharing
1 24 incentives, the costs of the incentives, the school
1 25 districts that consolidated, and how incentives were
1 26 used by the school districts; shall study the
1 27 feasibility of providing sharing incentives to
1 28 encourage transportation partnering; shall determine
1 29 the efficacy and the cost effectiveness of the
1 30 incentives; shall study the feasibility of providing
1 31 school infrastructure funding as a reorganization
1 32 incentive; and shall identify actions that may be
1 33 taken by the state, the department of education, area
1 34 education agencies, and stakeholders that have proven
1 35 in the past to assist school district reorganization
1 36 and whole grade sharing efforts".
1 37 #5. By renumbering, relettering, or redesignating
1 38 and correcting internal references as necessary.
