1 5 #2. Page 1, by inserting after line 33 the
1 6 following:
1 7 "# . Page 21, by inserting after line 24 the
1 8 following:
1 9 "(1A) For each active or inactive retired member
1 10 retiring prior to July 1, 1996, the applicable
1 11 percentage for that member plus, if applicable, and
1 12 notwithstanding any provision of this chapter to the
1 13 contrary, an additional one-fourth of one percentage
1 14 point for each additional calendar quarter of eligible
1 15 service beyond twenty-five years of service for the
1 16 member, not to exceed a total of five additional
1 17 percentage points effective with each monthly payment
1 18 of a retirement benefit allowance for the member on or
1 19 after July 1, 2000."
1 20 # . Page 23, by inserting after line 12 the
1 21 following:
1 22 "Sec. . Section 97B.49C, subsection 1,
1 23 paragraph b, Code 1999, is amended by adding the
1 24 following new subparagraph:
1 25 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH. (1A) For each active or
1 26 inactive retired member retiring prior to July 1,
1 27 1998, the applicable percentage for that member plus,
1 28 if applicable, and notwithstanding any provision of
1 29 this chapter to the contrary, an additional three-
1 30 eighths of one percentage point for each additional
1 31 calendar quarter of eligible service beyond twenty-two
1 32 years of service for the member, not to exceed a total
1 33 of twelve additional percentage points effective with
1 34 each monthly payment of a retirement benefit allowance
1 35 for the member on or after July 1, 2000.""
1 36 #3. Page 3, by inserting after line 48 the
1 37 following:
1 38 "# . Page 64, by inserting after line 14 the
1 39 following:
1 40 "(3A) Commencing July 1, 2000, for a member who
1 41 terminated service, other than by death or disability,
1 42 before July 1, 1998, and who did not withdraw the
1 43 member's contributions pursuant to section 411.23,
1 44 subparagraphs (1) through (3) shall not apply and
1 45 there shall be added one and one-half percent of the
1 46 member's average final compensation for each year of
1 47 service over twenty-two years effective with each
1 48 monthly payment of a service retirement allowance on
1 49 or after July 1, 2000. However, this subparagraph
1 50 does not apply to more than eight additional years of
2 1 service.""
