1 4 "Sec. . Section 260C.19, Code 1999, is amended
1 5 to read as follows:
1 6 260C.19 ACQUISITION OF SITES AND BUILDINGS.
1 7 Boards of directors of merged areas may acquire
1 8 sites and erect and equip buildings for use by
1 9 community colleges and may contract indebtedness and
1 10 issue bonds to raise funds for such purposes. A
1 11 community college shall not acquire a site, or erect
1 12 and equip buildings for use by the community college
1 13 on a site that is not on or contiguous to the existing
1 14 community college campus unless it can be clearly
1 15 demonstrated that land on or contiguous to the
1 16 existing community college campus is not available."
