1 2 #1. Page 1, line 32, by striking the word
1 3 "PURPOSE" and inserting the following: "PURPOSES".
1 4 #2. Page 1, by inserting before line 33, the
1 5 following:
1 6 " . The purpose of this chapter is to assert
1 7 this state's continuing commitment to family farm
1 8 agriculture and the need for restrictions on the
1 9 acquisition and holding of agricultural land by
1 10 persons other than family farmers. All provisions in
1 11 this chapter shall be strictly construed in order to
1 12 accomplish this purpose."
1 13 #3. By striking page 1, line 35 through page 2,
1 14 line 3, and inserting the following: "technological
1 15 advancement in animal and human health sciences. It
1 16 is the intent of the general assembly that persons
1 17 actively engaged in farming as defined in section 10.1
1 18 benefit from opportunities created during this period,
1 19 by requiring that a life science enterprise allow such
1 20 persons to participate in the enterprise, including by
1 21 holding an equity interest in the enterprise."
