1 3 #1. Page 1, by inserting before line 1 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Section 1. Section 441.49, unnumbered paragraph
1 6 3, Code 1999, is amended to read as follows:
1 7 On or before October 15 the county auditor shall
1 8 cause to be published in official newspapers of
1 9 general circulation the final equalization order. The
1 10 publication shall include, in type larger than the
1 11 remainder of the publication, the following statement:
1 12 "Assessed values are equalized by the department of
1 13 revenue and finance every two years. This action will
1 14 not automatically result in higher taxes. Local
1 15 taxing authorities determine the final tax levies and
1 16 may reduce property tax rates to compensate for any
1 17 increase in valuation due to equalization." Failure
1 18 to publish the equalization order has no effect upon
1 19 the validity of the orders."
1 20 #2. Page 1, line 1, by striking the words
1 21 "paragraphs h, and" and inserting the following:
1 22 "paragraph".
1 23 #3. Page 1, line 2, by striking the word "are" and
1 24 inserting the following: "is".
1 25 #4. Page 1, by striking lines 3 through 6.
1 26 #5. By renumbering as necessary.
