1 1 Amend the amendment, H-1588, to Senate File 468, as
1 2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
1 3 follows:
1 4 #1. Page 22, by inserting after line 32 the
1 5 following:
1 6 "Sec. . Section 904.508A, Code 1999, is amended
1 7 to read as follows:
1 8 904.508A INMATE TELEPHONE REBATE FUND.
1 9 The department is authorized to establish and
1 10 maintain an inmate telephone rebate fund in each
1 11 institution for the deposit of moneys received for
1 12 inmate telephone rebates. All funds deposited in this
1 13 fund shall be used for the benefit of inmates. The
1 14 director shall adopt rules providing for the
1 15 disbursement of moneys from the fund. The rules shall
1 16 provide that all disbursements of moneys from the fund
1 17 shall be subject to approval, in writing, by a
1 18 committee comprised of the director, a deputy director
1 19 for the department as designated by the director, and
1 20 the citizens' aide, or designee of the citizens'
1 21 aide."
