1 2 #1. Page 61, by inserting after line 11, the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. ___. TOBACCO CONTROL ADVISORY COMMITTEE.
1 5 1. A tobacco control advisory committee is created
1 6 consisting of representatives of the office of the
1 7 governor, the office of the attorney general, the Iowa
1 8 department of public health, and such other persons
1 9 representing organizations that have as their primary
1 10 purposes the reduction of the human, social, or
1 11 economic damage resulting from the use of cigarettes
1 12 and tobacco products.
1 13 2. The committee shall be staffed by the office of
1 14 the attorney general. The purpose of the committee is
1 15 to develop a plan for and to prepare for the creation
1 16 of a comprehensive tobacco control program.
1 17 3. The committee may receive funding through
1 18 grants, donations, or other contributions.
1 19 4. The committee shall submit a final report
1 20 containing its recommendations to the general assembly
1 21 and to the governor by December 15, 2000."
