1 4 "Sec. . OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE
1 5 INTOXICATED COURSE REQUIREMENT STUDY. The legislative
1 6 council is requested to establish an interim study
1 7 committee to evaluate courses required for persons who
1 8 have committed an operating a motor vehicle while
1 9 intoxicated offense. The study should include a
1 10 review of courses offered through the community
1 11 colleges, either alone or in conjunction with local
1 12 licensed substance abuse agencies, and include
1 13 consideration of the practice of combining juveniles
1 14 and adults in the same course, authorizing, and
1 15 ensuring the availability of expertise to offer
1 16 separate courses geared toward juveniles and adults,
1 17 the potential mixed message sent to recovering alcohol
1 18 or drug abusers who should be receiving a zero
1 19 tolerance for use directive, enrollment procedures,
1 20 course fees and costs, and course evaluation."
