EIGHTY-SIXTH CALENDAR DAY FIFTIETH SESSION DAY Senate Chamber Des Moines, Iowa, Tuesday, April 7, 1998 The Senate met in regular session at 9:59 a.m., President Kramer presiding. Prayer was offered by the Reverend Brian Eslinger, pastor of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Ames, Iowa. The Journal of Monday, April 6, 1998, was approved. SPECIAL GUESTS Senator Hedge introduced the following guests representing the Sixty-third Annual Tulip Time Festival: Queen Gina Bandstra, who introduced the members of her court: Suzanne Van Roekel, Angie Harms, Leah De Boef, and Sharesa Olson. Queen Gina invited the members of the Senate to attend the Tulip Time Festival in Pella on May 7, 8, and 9. The Queen, her attendants, and their parents distributed the famous Dutch cookies to the Senators and staff. PRESENTATION OF VISITORS The Chair welcomed fifty-five fifth grade students from West Marshall Middle School, State Center, Iowa, accompanied by Carol Eddy. Senator McKibben.
