1558 JOURNAL OF THE SENATE 107th Day Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent to send an immediate message to the House on Senate File 553. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION (Regular Calendar) Senate Concurrent Resolution 14 On motion of Senator Bartz, Senate Concurrent Resolution 14, a concurrent resolution to request that the Congress of the United States maintain and renew its commitment to America's corn growers and this nation's ethanol industry by supporting a tax exemption and by taking other actions to increase this nation's commitment to the production and use of ethanol, was taken up for consideration. Senator Bartz asked and received unanimous consent that House Concurrent Resolution 23 be substituted for Senate Concurrent Resolution 14. House Concurrent Resolution 23 On motion of Senator Bartz, House Concurrent Resolution 23, a concurrent resolution to request that the Congress of the United States maintain and renew its commitment to America's corn growers and this nation's ethanol industry by supporting a tax exemption and by taking other actions to increase this nation's commitment to the production and use of ethanol, was taken up for consideration. President pro tempore Redfern took the chair at 3:06 p.m. Senator Bartz moved the adoption of House Concurrent Resolution 23, which motion prevailed by a voice vote. Senator Bartz asked and received unanimous consent that Senate Concurrent Resolution 14 be withdrawn from further consideration of the Senate. The Senate stood at ease at 3:09 p.m. until the fall of the gavel. The Senate resumed session at 3:25 p.m., President pro tempore Redfern presiding.
