  546 JOURNAL OF THE SENATE 57th Day
  AFTERNOON SESSION

  The Senate reconvened at 4:42 p.m., President pro tempore Redfern
  presiding.

  QUORUM CALL

  Senator Iverson requested a non record roll call to determine that a
  quorum was present.

  The vote revealed 45 present, 5 absent and a quorum present.

  LEAVE OF ABSENCE

  Leave of absence was granted as follows:

  Senators McKibben and Kramer until they return on request of Senator Iverson
  and
  Senator Gettings until he returns on request of Senator Gronstal.

  BILLS REFERRED TO COMMITTEE

  Senate Iverson asked and received unanimous consent that Senate
  Files 336, 340, 363 be referred from the Regular Calendar to the
  committee on Appropriations.

  CONSIDERATION OF BILL
  (Regular Calendar)

  Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent to take up
  for consideration Senate File 299.

  Senate File 299

  On motion of Senator Angelo, Senate File 299, a bill for an act
  relating to cooperative associations and corporations by providing for
  operations and procedures, including providing for mergers, and
  providing an effective date, was taken up for consideration.

  Senator Angelo moved that the bill be read the last time now and
  placed upon its passage, which motion prevailed by a voice vote, and
  the bill was read the last time.

  On the question "Shall the bill pass?" (S.F. 299) the vote was:
