  1  1    Section 1.  Chapter 536C, Code 1997, is repealed.  
  1  2                           EXPLANATION
  1  3    This bill repeals Code chapter 536C which requires all
  1  4 nonresident issuers of credit cards who issue credit cards to
  1  5 Iowa residents to register with the superintendent of banking,
  1  6 superintendent of credit unions, or superintendent of savings
  1  7 and loan associations, as appropriate, prior to conducting
  1  8 business in this state and annually thereafter.  A copy of the
  1  9 credit agreement and billing statement used by the card issuer
  1 10 is to be provided with the registration statement.
