  1  1    Section 1.  Section 331.655, subsection 1, paragraphs h and
  1  2 k, Code 1997, are amended to read as follows:
  1  3    h.  For the time necessarily employed in making an
  1  4 inventory of personal property attached or levied upon, eight
  1  5 ten dollars per hour.
  1  6    k.  For attending sale of property, thirty fifty dollars
  1  7 for personal property and one hundred dollars for real
  1  8 property.
  1  9    Sec. 2.  Section 25B.2, subsection 3, shall not apply to
  1 10 this Act.  
  1 11                           EXPLANATION
  1 12    This bill increases fees which the sheriff charges for
  1 13 inventorying and attending sales of property.  For the
  1 14 inventory of personal property, the fee is increased from $8
  1 15 to $10 per hour.  For attending a sale of property, the
  1 16 sheriff may charge a fee of $50 for personal property and $100
  1 17 for the sale of real property.
  1 18    This bill is exempt from the requirements of chapter 25B,
  1 19 state mandates.  The increased costs required by this bill
  1 20 shall be paid by the political subdivisions which incurred the
  1 21 costs.
