  1  1    Section 1.  1994 Iowa Acts, chapter 1038, section 3, as
  1  2 amended by 1995 Iowa Acts, chapter 33, section 1, 1996 Iowa
  1  3 Acts, chapter 1024, section 1, and 1997 Iowa Acts, chapter 67,
  1  4 section 2, is amended to read as follows:
  1  5    SEC. 3.  REPEAL.  This Act is repealed effective July 1,
  1  6 1998 2001.
  1  7    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of
  1  8 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.  
  1  9                           EXPLANATION
  1 10    This bill extends the effective date of repeal of the
  1 11 exemption for certain multiple employer welfare arrangements
  1 12 from regulation by the insurance division from July 1, 1998,
  1 13 to July 1, 2001.
  1 14    The bill takes effect upon enactment.
