  1  2 1997, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    c.  Support for curriculum development, instruction, and
  1  4 assessment for reading, language arts, social studies, math,
  1  5 and science, using research-based methodologies.  
  1  6                           EXPLANATION
  1  7    This bill requires the department of education to include
  1  8 in standards developed for the accreditation of area education
  1  9 agencies support for curriculum development, instruction, and
  1 10 assessment for social studies, using research-based
  1 11 methodologies.
