1 1 Section 1. Section 524.821, Code 1997, is amended by
1 2 adding the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 3. A state bank which offers its
1 4 customers the opportunity to engage in transactions with or
1 5 through the bank in the manner authorized pursuant to
1 6 subsection 1, shall not assess a fee for the first twenty-five
1 7 transactions of a customer in any calendar month.
1 8 Sec. 2. Section 533.4, Code 1997, is amended by adding the
1 9 following new subsection:
1 10 NEW SUBSECTION. 18A. A credit union which offers its
1 11 members the opportunity to engage in transactions with or
1 12 through the credit union in the manner authorized pursuant to
1 13 subsection 17 or 18, shall not assess a fee for the first
1 14 twenty-five transactions of a member in any calendar month.
1 15 Sec. 3. Section 534.103, subsection 9, Code 1997, is
1 16 amended by adding the following new unnumbered paragraph:
1 17 NEW UNNUMBERED PARGRAPH. An association which offers its
1 18 members the opportunity to engage in transactions with or
1 19 through the association in the manner authorized pursuant to
1 20 this subsection, shall not assess a fee for the first twenty-
1 21 five transactions of a member in any calendar month.
1 22 EXPLANATION
1 23 This bill provides that a bank, credit union, and savings
1 24 and loan association shall not assess a fee for the first 25
1 25 transactions in any calendar month where the customer or
1 26 member is utilizing a satellite terminal to engage in the
1 27 transaction.
