1 1 Section 1. Section 455B.201, subsection 4, Code 1997, is
1 2 amended to read as follows:
1 3 4. A person shall not use spray irrigation equipment to
1 4 apply manure on land from which water drains into an
1 5 agricultural drainage well. A person shall not otherwise
1 6 apply manure by spray irrigation equipment, except as provided
1 7 by rules which shall be adopted by the department pursuant to
1 8 chapter 17A.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill prohibits a person from using spray irrigation
1 11 equipment to apply manure on land from which water drains into
1 12 an agricultural drainage well.
1 13 Under Code section 455B.191, the department of natural
1 14 resources could impose a civil penalty of up to $5,000 for
1 15 each violation of the bill.
