  1  1    Amend Senate File 187, as passed by the Senate, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, line 33, by inserting after the word
  1  4 "Code" the following:  "Supplement".
  1  5    #2.  Page 2, line 23, by striking the words ",
  1  6 seasonal, individual".
  1  7    #3.  Page 3, line 3, by striking the word ",
  1  8 seasonal".
  1  9    #4.  Page 5, line 24, by inserting after the word
  1 10 "fee." the following:  Upon application and payment of
  1 11 the required fees for archery-only licenses, a
  1 12 resident archer shall be issued two wild turkey
  1 13 licenses for the spring season."
  1 14    #5.  Page 5, by striking lines 27 through 29 and
  1 15 inserting the following:  "wildlife habitat stamp fee.
  1 16 The commission shall annually limit to two thousand
  1 17 licenses the number of nonresidents allowed to have
  1 18 wild turkey hunting licenses.  The number of".
  1 19    #6.  Page 6, by striking lines 14 through 16 and
  1 20 inserting the following:  "habitat stamp fee.  The
  1 21 commission shall annually limit to five six thousand
  1 22 licenses the number of nonresidents allowed to have
  1 23 deer hunting licenses.  The number of nonresident
  1 24 deer".
  1 25    #7.  Page 7, line 10, by inserting after the word
  1 26 "fee." the following:  "A person authorized to issue a
  1 27 license or collect a fee pursuant to this chapter or
  1 28 chapter 484A shall charge the fee specified in this
  1 29 chapter or chapter 484A only plus a writing fee if
  1 30 applicable."
  1 31    #8.  Page 8, line 8, by inserting after the word
  1 32 "depositary." the following:  "A license depository
  1 33 may charge and retain a writing fee of one dollar for
  1 34 the issuance of a free deer hunting license or a free
  1 35 wild turkey hunting license as authorized under
  1 36 section 483A.24, subsection 2."
  1 37    #9.  Page 8, line 32, by inserting after the word
  1 38 "original." the following:  "The license depository
  1 39 may charge and retain a writing fee of one dollar for
  1 40 each duplicate license issued pursuant to this
  1 41 section."
  1 42    #10.  Page 9, by inserting after line 5 the
  1 43 following:
  1 44    "Sec.    .  Section 483A.19, Code 1997, is amended
  1 45 to read as follows:
  1 46    483A.19  SHOWING LICENSE TO OFFICER.
  1 47    Every person shall, while fishing, hunting, or fur
  1 48 harvesting, show the person's license, certificate, or
  1 49 permit, to any peace officer or the owner or person in
  1 50 lawful control of the land or water upon which
  2  1 licensee may be hunting, fishing, or fur harvesting
  2  2 when requested by the persons to do so.  Any failure
  2  3 to so carry or refusal to show or so exhibit the
  2  4 person's license, certificate, or permit shall be a
  2  5 violation of this chapter.  However, except for
  2  6 possession and exhibition of deer licenses and tags or
  2  7 wild turkey licenses and tags, a person charged with
  2  8 violating this section shall not be convicted if the
  2  9 person produces in court, within a reasonable time, a
  2 10 license, certificate, or permit for hunting, fishing,
  2 11 or fur harvesting issued to that person and valid when
  2 12 the person was charged with a violation of this
  2 13 section."
  2 14    #11.  Page 9, by inserting after line 10 the
  2 15 following:
  2 16    "Sec. ___.  Section 483A.24, subsection 2,
  2 17 paragraph b, Code Supplement 1997, is amended to read
  2 18 as follows:
  2 19    b.  Upon written application on forms furnished by
  2 20 the department, the department shall issue annually
  2 21 without fee one deer or one wild turkey license, or
  2 22 both, to the owner of a farm unit or to a member of
  2 23 the owner's family, but not to both, and to the tenant
  2 24 or to a member of the tenant's family, but not to
  2 25 both.  The deer hunting license or wild turkey hunting
  2 26 license issued shall be valid only on the farm unit
  2 27 for which an applicant qualifies pursuant to this
  2 28 subsection and shall be equivalent to the least
  2 29 restrictive license issued under section 481A.38.  The
  2 30 owner or the tenant need not reside on the farm unit
  2 31 to qualify for a free license to hunt on that farm
  2 32 unit.  A free deer hunting license issued pursuant to
  2 33 this subsection shall be valid during all shotgun deer
  2 34 seasons."
  2 35    #12.  Page 9, line 11, by inserting after the word
  2 36 "Code" the following:  "Supplement".
  2 37    #13.  Page 12, by striking lines 4 and 5.
  2 38    #14.  Page 12, line 7, by striking the figure
  2 39 "1997" and inserting the following:  "1998".
