  1  1    Amend House File 2539, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 34, by inserting after line 2 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "As a condition of receiving the appropriation in
  1  6 this subsection and notwithstanding any provision of
  1  7 law to the contrary, the department of public safety
  1  8 shall transfer authority over the office of the state
  1  9 medical examiner to the Iowa department of public
  1 10 health and shall transfer any funds appropriated in
  1 11 this subsection and unexpended by the department of
  1 12 public safety to the Iowa department of public health
  1 13 at the point in time during the fiscal year when
  1 14 authority over the office is transferred to the Iowa
  1 15 department of public health as required by this
  1 16 subsection."
