1 3 #1. Page 5, by inserting after line 29 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Sec. ___. Section 455B.424, subsection 1, Code
1 6 1997, is amended to read as follows:
1 7 1. The person who generates hazardous waste or the
1 8 owner or operator of a hazardous waste disposal
1 9 facility who transports hazardous wastes off of the
1 10 site where the hazardous waste was generated or off
1 11 the disposal facility site shall pay a fee of ten
1 12 dollars for each ton up to two thousand five hundred
1 13 tons of hazardous waste transported off the site,
1 14 excluding the water content of any waste that is
1 15 transported to another facility under the ownership of
1 16 the generator for the purposes of waste treatment or
1 17 recycling.
1 18 Sec. ___. Section 455B.424, subsection 2,
1 19 paragraph b, Code 1997, is amended to read as follows:
1 20 b. Two dollars for each ton up to five hundred
1 21 tons of hazardous waste destroyed or treated at the
1 22 generator's site or at the disposal facility to render
1 23 the hazardous waste nonhazardous."
