1 1 Amend Senate File 2295 as follows:
1 2 #1. Page 15, by inserting after line 29 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. ___. WATERSHED PROGRAM. There is
1 5 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the
1 6 department of agriculture and land stewardship for the
1 7 fiscal year beginning July 1, 1998, and ending June
1 8 30, 1999, the following amount, or so much thereof as
1 9 is necessary, to be used for the purposes designated:
1 10 For the watershed program, including salaries,
1 11 support, maintenance, miscellaneous purposes, and for
1 12 not more than the following full-time equivalent
1 13 positions:
1 14 .................................................. $ 400,000
1 15 ............................................... FTEs 2.00
1 16 Notwithstanding section 8.33, moneys appropriated
1 17 in this section which remain unexpended or unobligated
1 18 on June 30, 1999, shall not revert to the general fund
1 19 of the state but shall remain available for the
1 20 purposes designated for the fiscal year beginning July
1 21 1, 1999."
1 22 #2. Page 16, by inserting after line 28 the
1 23 following:
1 24 "Sec. ___. NEW SECTION. 161C.7 WATERSHED
1 25 PROGRAM.
1 26 The division shall develop and implement a
1 27 watershed program to address, examine, and provide
1 28 possible suggestions for issues involving soil
1 29 conservation, water quality protection, and flood
1 30 control objectives in all watersheds in the state.
1 31 The information resulting from this program shall be
1 32 used by soil and water conservation districts to
1 33 develop and implement water quality and watershed
1 34 projects in the state."
