1 1 Amend Senate File 2296 as follows:
1 2 #1. Page 18, by inserting after line 6 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. ___. The department of economic development
1 5 shall submit a report to the general assembly as
1 6 provided in section 7A.11 by January 1, 1999, which
1 7 includes all of the following:
1 8 1. A survey of all business, industry, and
1 9 agriculture-related international trade activities in
1 10 this state. The survey shall include the types of
1 11 businesses and the products involved in international
1 12 trade and the estimated costs and revenues resulting
1 13 from such trade.
1 14 2. A list of specific targets and targeted
1 15 opportunities for business, industry, and agriculture
1 16 related to international trade activities in this
1 17 state. These targets shall include the types of
1 18 businesses and the products that are currently
1 19 involved in international trade, as well as the types
1 20 of businesses and the products that could potentially
1 21 become involved in international trade in the future."
