1 2 #1. Page 1, by inserting before line 1 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Section 1. NEW SECTION. 161C.7 WATERSHED
1 5 PROGRAM.
1 6 The division shall develop and implement a
1 7 watershed program to address, examine, and provide
1 8 possible suggestions for issues involving soil
1 9 conservation, water quality protection, and flood
1 10 control objectives in all watersheds in the state.
1 11 The information resulting from this program shall be
1 12 used by soil and water conservation districts to
1 13 develop and implement water quality and watershed
1 14 projects in the state."
1 15 #2. Page 2, line 18, by striking the figure
1 16 "300,000" and inserting the following: "1,000,000".
1 17 #3. Page 2, by inserting after line 23 the
1 18 following:
1 19 "Sec. ___. APPROPRIATION. There is appropriated
1 20 from the general fund of the state to the department
1 21 of agriculture and land stewardship for the fiscal
1 22 year beginning July 1, 1998, and ending June 30, 1999,
1 23 the following amount, or so much thereof as is
1 24 necessary, to be used for the purposes designated:
1 25 For the watershed program, including salaries,
1 26 support, maintenance, miscellaneous purposes, and for
1 27 not more than the following full-time equivalent
1 28 positions:
1 29 .................................................. $ 400,000
1 30 ............................................... FTEs 2.00
1 31 Notwithstanding section 8.33, moneys appropriated
1 32 in this section which remain unexpended or unobligated
1 33 on June 30, 1999, shall not revert to the general fund
1 34 of the state but shall remain available for the
1 35 purposes designated for the fiscal year beginning July
1 36 1, 1999."
1 37 #4. Title page, line 1, by inserting after the
1 38 word "monitoring" the following: ", watershed
1 39 monitoring,".
1 40 #5. By renumbering as necessary.
