  1  1    Amend the amendment, S-3744, to House File 733, as
  1  2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the House, as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 9, by inserting after line 33 the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    "As a condition of receiving the appropriations in
  1  7 this section, the department shall allocate seventy-
  1  8 five percent of the estimated or actual cost of
  1  9 improvements as defined by section 468.3, not to
  1 10 exceed five hundred thousand dollars each fiscal year,
  1 11 for a single drainage improvement project, which will
  1 12 provide alternative drainage outlets to allow for the
  1 13 closing of thirty or more agricultural drainage wells,
  1 14 constructed by a drainage district established under
  1 15 section 468.22 on or after July 1, 1987, and prior to
  1 16 July 1, 1997, for which a construction contract for
  1 17 the project is successfully let prior to March 1,
  1 18 1998."
