  1  1    Amend House File 715, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted, by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 32, by inserting after line 5 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "   .  If a community mental health center has
  1  6 performed an initial screening of a child and
  1  7 determined the child has a mental health need or other
  1  8 need which may be addressed by children's
  1  9 rehabilitation services under the medical assistance
  1 10 program or another appropriate service administered or
  1 11 funded by the department, the center may refer the
  1 12 child to the department.  Upon referral, the
  1 13 department shall perform an assessment to determine
  1 14 whether a service administered or funded by the
  1 15 department is appropriate to address the child's
  1 16 mental health need or other need and the child's
  1 17 eligibility for the service.  If a service
  1 18 administered or funded by the department is determined
  1 19 to be appropriate and the child is eligible for the
  1 20 service, the department shall provide the service to
  1 21 the child.  If it is determined the services funded or
  1 22 administered by the department are not appropriate for
  1 23 the child or the child is not eligible for the
  1 24 services, the department may refer the child to
  1 25 another source of services or funding.  The department
  1 26 shall report to the general assembly in January 1998
  1 27 with findings and recommendations concerning
  1 28 implementation of the provisions of this subsection."
  1 29    #2.  Page 55, line 18, by inserting after the word
  1 30 "coordination" the following:  ", financing,".
