  1  1    Amend Senate File 538 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, lines 1 and 2, by striking the words
  1  3 and figure "unnumbered paragraph 1,".
  1  4    #2.  Page 1, line 3, by inserting before the word
  1  5 "A" the following:  "2."
  1  6    #3.  Page 1, line 18, by striking the word "not"
  1  7 and inserting the following:  "not".
  1  8    #4.  Page 1, by inserting after line 26 the
  1  9 following:
  1 10    "As used in this subsection, "tuition" means any
  1 11 charges for the expenses of personnel, buildings,
  1 12 equipment and materials other than textbooks, and
  1 13 other expenses of elementary or secondary schools
  1 14 which relate to the teaching only of those subjects
  1 15 legally and commonly taught in public elementary and
  1 16 secondary schools in this state and which do not
  1 17 relate to the teaching of religious tenets, doctrines,
  1 18 or worship, the purpose of which is to inculcate those
  1 19 tenets, doctrines, or worship, and or which do not
  1 20 relate to extracurricular activities including
  1 21 sporting events, musical or dramatic events, speech
  1 22 activities, driver's education, or programs of a
  1 23 similar nature."
