  1  1    Amend House File 655, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 14, by inserting after line 30 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "It is the intent of the general assembly that each
  1  6 regional workforce development center designate a
  1  7 business liaison outreach officer.  The business
  1  8 liaison outreach officer shall actively seek input
  1  9 from area businesses regarding actual labor needs of
  1 10 businesses within the region, determine the extent to
  1 11 which area businesses have utilized or are utilizing
  1 12 job placement services to meet these labor needs,
  1 13 examine the past and current record of job placement
  1 14 services regarding the ability to respond to these
  1 15 labor needs through the referral of qualified job
  1 16 applicants, and develop a plan for implementing
  1 17 necessary changes for improving the level of business
  1 18 utilization of job placement services and the ability
  1 19 to refer qualified job applicants in the future."
