  1  1    Amend House File 589, as passed by the House, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 7, by inserting after line 32 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  NEW SECTION.  90A.13  PROHIBITED
  1  6 FIGHTING EXHIBITIONS.
  1  7    1.  A person shall not hold, promote, or
  1  8 participate in a full contact or no-holds-barred or
  1  9 other exhibition commonly known as "no rules",
  1 10 "ultimate fighting", "extreme fighting", "shoot
  1 11 fighting", or "sport boxing" in this state.
  1 12    2.  The state commissioner of athletics shall adopt
  1 13 rules pursuant to chapter 17A defining the exhibitions
  1 14 prohibited under subsection 1, and distinguishing
  1 15 those exhibitions from boxing and wrestling contests
  1 16 permitted under this chapter, and from exhibitions or
  1 17 contests of the martial arts.
  1 18    3.  A person who violates this section or the rules
  1 19 adopted pursuant to this section commits a simple
  1 20 misdemeanor."
  1 21    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
